MODERN SOLUTIONS Skills Groups

Learn practical skills that create lasting change.

Life can feel overwhelming when you're constantly reacting to difficult emotions, poor sleep, stress, or persistent pain. Our Skills Groups teach practical, evidence-based strategies you can use in everyday life to help you respond differently to life's challenges.

Rather than focusing primarily on talking about your experiences, our groups emphasize learning, practising, and applying new skills that can improve your daily functioning and quality of life.

Whether you're looking to better manage intense emotions, improve your sleep, or reduce the impact of chronic pain, we have a group designed to help.

Why Choose a Skills Group?

Because learning new skills doesn't always require individual therapy.

Skills groups offer a structured, educational approach to treatment at a lower cost than weekly individual therapy. You'll learn the same evidence-based strategies our clinicians teach in one-to-one sessions while benefiting from the encouragement, accountability, and shared experiences of others working toward similar goals.

Many participants attend a skills group on its own, while others use it alongside individual therapy to accelerate their progress.

How Do Skills Groups Work?

Our groups are designed to be interactive, practical, and easy to apply to real life.

Each week you'll:

  • Learn evidence-based skills from experienced clinicians.

  • Understand why the skills work.

  • Practise applying them to everyday situations.

  • Receive worksheets and exercises to reinforce learning between sessions.

  • Build confidence using the skills over time.

Unlike traditional process groups, the focus is less on sharing personal stories and more on learning practical tools you can continue using long after the group ends.
